Movie Review A Beautiful Mind - 1322 Words

The movie I chose to do my paper on is â€Å"A Beautiful Mind.† This movie describes that nature of psychotic disorders for one. Hitting low blows after low blows dealing with a disorder. Everything takes a tumble for the worst when it starts to effect the family. This movie show how someone can be diagnosed with something, but still prosper pass it and change the world. He never gave up and fought his problems through. John Nash is the main character. He is shy and quiet. Nash is also focused and a determined young man. Alicia Nash, John’s wife, is patient and mellow. She took more on herself living with Mr. Nash as he went through his stages of his illness. Charles Herman is his roommate from Princeton in graduate school. He is wild and a†¦show more content†¦He never looked anyone in their eyes. He was always twitching around. He moved his mouth a lot even when he wasn’t talking. I think the disorder was represented perfectly in the movie. All the signs were there. I had a figure of what he had before the psychiatrist diagnosed him. Throughout the movie, you could tell he was different. He was not very sociable. He even said to Charles,† I don’t like people much, and they much don’t like me.† When he would go around his classmates and they ask him questions, he would go on and on about something before just simply asking the question. Once when he was outside playing the game with one of his classmates, Martin Hasen, he loss and acted wild. He knocked over the game set and ran off yelling. Most people that lose don’t do those things. The representation did perpetuate stigma of illness. When he started acting differently with his wife, you could see that something was going on. He did not even feel safe at his own home anymore. He really thought the government was out to get him. He was a professor at a school. He had stopped showing up for his own class because he was so involved in something that was not real. The first time I caught a glimpse of something being wrong, he was leaving work. He ran into William Parcher and they walked into a building. He showed his identification to the guard, but Parcher said he did not need to show his because they knew him.
